Today Reminder - 06 June 2012 (Temptation)

My prayer for you for today is that you will resist temptation so that you will receive the crown of life that God promised, in Jesus name.

James 1:12-15
God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him. And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted to do wrong, and He never tempts anyone else. Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away. These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death.

Temptation - God is never tempted to do wrong, and He never tempts anyone else.  Temptation comes in so many forms through our daily lives and we are constantly lured into temptation by our own desire. I believe that desire is not the bad one, but it is the decision that follows the desire that leads to wrong. How do we overcome evil or rather how do we overcome bad desires. When your life belongs to Jesus and He is in you and you are completely committed to Him then God will strengthen you and give you wisdom to know and to overcome. We can channel desire from bad to good. We can live with a desire to please God and this should be your first goal so that when evil come knocking good will rise.

My dear friend, God will never temp you, because He loves you too much and only wants you to succeed. Jesus became human and was tempted just as we are, so He knows what you are going through. Place your desires in His hands and ask Him to help you defeat evil so that we can glorify Him when temptation fails. Let us walk in His light today and stand on His foundation so that we will destroy all temptations and live fully. Come dear friend of Jesus let us sing and dance as we glorify His name over all temptation. I pray that you will be filled with joy and that you will focus on good and resist evil.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers
