Today Reminder - 08 June 2012 (Understand)

My prayer for you for today is that you will be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to get angry and that you will accept the word God has planted in your hearts, in Jesus name.

James 1:19-21
Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires. So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls.

Understand - Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires. Anger can produce so may wrong results and can hurt so much in so many ways. It is one of the emotions that we allow too much space in our lives. I think we get angry most of the time without thinking, we just move from quiet to angry in seconds. Anger directly causes hurt, because when we are angry we do not think and therefore say what we should not have said. It can cause distance in a relationship and it can break trust and respect. Anger can be lethal.

My dear friend, anger is not what God intended. If we truly love one another we will not get angry, yes we will speak out when someone is in the wrong place or heading down the wrong path, but not in anger – in love. Anger has only a negative side, never a positive one. For example: Has anger towards other drivers on the road ever gotten you to work faster? No, instead it could make you do stupid things with your car that can cause an accident.

Let the Holy Spirit be your guide in all the situations that can make you angry, and listen to God’s word in your heart as you fight anger with love, and speak from your heart. So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls.

Have an awesome “Happy Place” day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers
