Today Reminder – 19 December 2016

A reminder for today
You have died with Christ, and he has set you free from the spiritual powers of this world. So why do you keep on following the rules of the world. (Colossians 2:20)

How are you my friend? I surely hope all is well and that your faith remains steadfast as we journey onward towards eternity. Our path my be separated now but soon they will be united when our Lord returns. But more importantly you my seem to journey on another path because you may live in a different country or you may suffer because of your religion, yet we are are connected. We all are connected by the Lord. For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority. (Verse 9 and 10).

We are not bound by the structures and boundaries of this world. Through Jesus we are set free and in this freedom we are also united because we share the same faith and the same goals. We seek the same path and we desire the same fullness of faith. We dwell differently from that of others because we see with Holy Spirit eyes and we live with Holy Spirit guidance. We are immortal and a mutation from the rest as we travel through this live knowing it is only temporary. We live by faith and we seek only Him for in the end we will live in the house of the Lord forever. This is our immortality and this is our reward when we finish the race and stand victorious before our Lord.

When you think of this it is funny that people desire immortality in this world when we know it is coming to an end. It is funny when we see people who live for their possessions and greed as it is worthless in the end. It is only when you start to think like that, that you realize how many is lost as the moment and how people will allow worldly possessions and wealth misguide them and harden their hearts for the salvation that awaits us. Our treasure is not here, my friend, our treasure lies with our Lord. This is where our hearts are and this is where our faith lies. We are no longer chained by our sinful nature, yet we are free from it all.

So today remember when you came to Christ, you were "circumcised," but not by a physical procedure. Christ performed a spiritual circumcision—the cutting away of your sinful nature. For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with him you were raised to new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead. You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross. (verse 11-15)

Lord, you are all we need and all we desire. Fill us with your Spirit and strengthen us against the rulers of this world. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Just to remind you

When I say that 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living. I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.'  When I say 'I am a Christian', I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.   When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it. When I say 'I am a Christian', I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not holier than you. I’m just a simple sinner who received God...

Today Reminder – 7 August 2014 (Day 5 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today Honour the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. (Proverbs 3:9-10) When we realise that all we are and all that we are good at is a blessing from the Lord we soon see how we can honour Him with these wonderful talents. I give all the credit to the Lord for all that I accomplish and all that I do and I am humbled by the way He continues to give me wisdom in my work. The promise here is much greater than we realise. When we honour Him with all that we produce, He will fill our barns and let our vats overflow. This to me means that the more we honour Him in what we produce (do) the more He will bless what we do up to the extend where we will see His blessings and they will leave us completely overwhelmed. In the end all that we have comes from God and He will increase what we have when we seek Him above all and live to bring glory to Him. ...

Today Reminder (Boxes) – 9 November 2017

A reminder for today   I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End [the Eternal One]. (Revelation 22:13 ) When you are reading this, I will be well on my way to my parents. Today is their moving day and we are off to help. Now, when it comes to moving I am almost an expert. We moved a few times and I can tell you it was never fun. Even still today our furniture starts to shake when a truck drives by. Now moving is all about boxes. Your stuff goes into the box and then onto the truck and finally at the new destination the stuff comes out of the box. One thing I can tell you is that with every move our stuff got lesser and lesser, because I gave some away that I thought we do not need anymore. Some would think I just made it less and easier to move. I would argue the opposite, but surely everyone is entitled to their own opinion. When we look at life it is a bit like moving. You see we experience things in life and we box it. This c...
