Today Reminder – 25 May 2017

A reminder for today
For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God. (1 Peter 1:23)

People are like grass; their beauty is like a flower in the field. The grass withers and the flower fades.
But the word of the Lord remains forever. Where do I go when my strength is gone and my will broken? What do I do when I walk through the valley of death? Where is my faith when I am consumed by stress and fear? What happens when I die today?

I look to the Lord, our God and king. He is eternal and invincible. He is the creator of heaven and earth and He is my strength when I have no more left. I know my life is but a mere whisper and I know that days and hours pass by faster with every beat of my heart. I realise that I may not have so much time as what I would like to have. I know that stress is a tool used by the enemy to destroy our faith and weaken us. I know that the darkness in the valley may consume the valley, but it will never consume the light I have. I know I am weak, but in my weakness, I have more strength than ever before. My strength is not man made nor is it of this world. My strength comes from a life-giving universe creating God. So, life you may wither away but the life I have is eternal. It is forever and it is a gift from a forever God.

I will not worry for my worries do not add to my days. I will not fear for fear is for the enemy. I will not stress for stress does not exist in the life that God restores. I will look to my king and I will not give up – ever.

Lord, you are our everything. You are life and you are life eternal. There is no more death for us, just life with you. Take away our burdens and renew our strength so that we will not fear but stand strong in our faith. You are more than all the worries we can ever have. Let us see life as you see it. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Just to remind you

When I say that 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living. I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.'  When I say 'I am a Christian', I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.   When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it. When I say 'I am a Christian', I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not holier than you. I’m just a simple sinner who received God...

Today Reminder – 7 August 2014 (Day 5 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today Honour the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. (Proverbs 3:9-10) When we realise that all we are and all that we are good at is a blessing from the Lord we soon see how we can honour Him with these wonderful talents. I give all the credit to the Lord for all that I accomplish and all that I do and I am humbled by the way He continues to give me wisdom in my work. The promise here is much greater than we realise. When we honour Him with all that we produce, He will fill our barns and let our vats overflow. This to me means that the more we honour Him in what we produce (do) the more He will bless what we do up to the extend where we will see His blessings and they will leave us completely overwhelmed. In the end all that we have comes from God and He will increase what we have when we seek Him above all and live to bring glory to Him. ...

Today Reminder (Boxes) – 9 November 2017

A reminder for today   I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End [the Eternal One]. (Revelation 22:13 ) When you are reading this, I will be well on my way to my parents. Today is their moving day and we are off to help. Now, when it comes to moving I am almost an expert. We moved a few times and I can tell you it was never fun. Even still today our furniture starts to shake when a truck drives by. Now moving is all about boxes. Your stuff goes into the box and then onto the truck and finally at the new destination the stuff comes out of the box. One thing I can tell you is that with every move our stuff got lesser and lesser, because I gave some away that I thought we do not need anymore. Some would think I just made it less and easier to move. I would argue the opposite, but surely everyone is entitled to their own opinion. When we look at life it is a bit like moving. You see we experience things in life and we box it. This c...
