A reminder for
today
Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And
the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. (Acts 2:47)
I love the series “Last man standing” with Tim Allen. Tim Allen
is an outspoken Christian and there is often Christian content in his show. Mostly
it is light hearted but at least he is not ashamed or afraid to say there is a
God. One of the episodes that we are watching at the moment he and his wife in
the show wanted their kids to go to church more often.
The kids obviously did not want to go, because church is boring
for them. Mike (Tim Allen) decided that he needs to do something about this and
being some fundi in marketing he helped the pastor to make his sermons more
fun. This made a huge difference but still the kids were not convinced to
attend more often. So, Mike came up with a brilliant plan and got them involved
in the church.
I loved it and it made me realise how important it is to
share time with fellow believers and to worship God together. I believe we
should try and get involved in our churches and become part of the church community.
There is always an area that needs more help and becoming part of the church is
committing your time for God so that His church can operate better.
Every little help that the church can get is so important
and the minute you are part of the bigger picture you will also realise how important
it is to give and especially giving of your time.
But most of all it is vital that we build our kids on a foundation
of Jesus. Last night we read the part where Jesus talked about building your
house on a rock and not on sand. Our society is falling apart because the
foundation satan gives is of sand and nothing can stand on it. He is all about
destruction and brokenness but if our society is in the church and our foundation
is Jesus Christ, then we will have an unbreakable foundation that our children
can prosper on.
Lord, I pray that all the hearts of all the people will be touched
by you and that people will turn back to you and start going back to church. There
was time where people never missed a Sunday and I pray that we will return to that
time teaching people the values of the Bible. In Jesus name.
