Today Reminder – 12 Augustus 2016

A reminder for today
As the Scriptures say, "If you want to boast, boast only about the LORD." When people commend themselves, it doesn't count for much. The important thing is for the Lord to commend them. (2 Corinthians 10:17-18)

We live in a world where the “self” has become a huge issue. People are so concerned about themselves and what they do that they miss the complete picture. Idolizing and selfishness has become a disease that is destroying people. People want to be recognized and the love it when other fuzz over them and most of all we love it when people boast about us and our work. Everywhere we go people seek recognition but they seek it from other people.

If you want to boast about something, boast about the Lord. He gave up His life for all of us and His grace saved us from eternal death. Nothing we are is because of our own self. All we are and all we do is given to us by grace and love. God gave us the talents and gifts we have to do what we do, but more than that God has given us health and life so that we can wake up ueach day and carry His gospel everywhere we go.

When you praise yourself it does not count for much and anyone that seeks praise are building on a shallow foundation. If you seek to be commended, seek it from God. If you want to be recognized let God recognize you for He will bless your work and bless you for your humility and willingness to go the extra mile. It is important that we steer away from idolizing so that we will find praise from God as we praise Him for all He does.

So today I want us to be humble again and allow God to be the one to recognize us and commend us. Your humility and modesty will glorify God and you will build on Him.

Lord, today we ask that you give us the knowledge and guidance to remain humble as we carry you with us and in our hearts wherever we go. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.
Cheers

Just to remind you

When I say that 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living. I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.'  When I say 'I am a Christian', I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.   When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it. When I say 'I am a Christian', I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not holier than you. I’m just a simple sinner who received God...

Today Reminder – 7 August 2014 (Day 5 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today Honour the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. (Proverbs 3:9-10) When we realise that all we are and all that we are good at is a blessing from the Lord we soon see how we can honour Him with these wonderful talents. I give all the credit to the Lord for all that I accomplish and all that I do and I am humbled by the way He continues to give me wisdom in my work. The promise here is much greater than we realise. When we honour Him with all that we produce, He will fill our barns and let our vats overflow. This to me means that the more we honour Him in what we produce (do) the more He will bless what we do up to the extend where we will see His blessings and they will leave us completely overwhelmed. In the end all that we have comes from God and He will increase what we have when we seek Him above all and live to bring glory to Him. ...

Today Reminder (Boxes) – 9 November 2017

A reminder for today   I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End [the Eternal One]. (Revelation 22:13 ) When you are reading this, I will be well on my way to my parents. Today is their moving day and we are off to help. Now, when it comes to moving I am almost an expert. We moved a few times and I can tell you it was never fun. Even still today our furniture starts to shake when a truck drives by. Now moving is all about boxes. Your stuff goes into the box and then onto the truck and finally at the new destination the stuff comes out of the box. One thing I can tell you is that with every move our stuff got lesser and lesser, because I gave some away that I thought we do not need anymore. Some would think I just made it less and easier to move. I would argue the opposite, but surely everyone is entitled to their own opinion. When we look at life it is a bit like moving. You see we experience things in life and we box it. This c...
