Today Reminder (Knowing) – 3 November 2017

A reminder for today
If any of you lacks wisdom [to guide him through a decision or circumstance], he is to ask of [our benevolent] God, who gives to everyone generously and without rebuke or blame, and it will be given to him. (James 1:5)

It is the end of another week and we are well on our way into November and the end of our release. Tensions are high and stress of the stuff that is still outstanding is taking its toll. I am off to see a client with network related issues and I am afraid I am not sure what their problem is. So, today’s verse is for me. I desperately need God’s wisdom and guidance for the challenge that awaits us. But wisdom is not just a work and once of requirement, but I believe it is a daily thing and when we look at it in that way it is surely something I need every day.

I love this verse. If you need wisdom, ask it from God and He will give it generously and without rebuke (reproach) or blame. And it will be given.  This such an awesome promise from God and if it is that simple then I believe we should ask for wisdom every day and in every circumstance.
Wisdom is defined as the quality or state of being wise; knowledge of what is true or right coupled with just judgment as to action; sagacity, discernment, or insight.

The Bible emphasizes that one of the greatest qualities we can possess is wisdom. The books of Proverbs and Ecclesiastes are replete with timeless advice, especially about the importance of wisdom: “The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding” (Proverbs 4:7, New International Version).

King Solomon, with all his magnificent wealth and possessions, understood the value of wisdom: “For wisdom is better than rubies, and all the things one may desire cannot be compared with her” (Proverbs 8:11). He also stated, “How much better to get wisdom than gold!” (Proverbs 16:16). It would be difficult to convince the many who embrace the materialistic ways of our society that they should believe King Solomon!

Because wisdom helps us to understand the difference between what is right and wrong in God’s sight, acquiring and exercising wisdom will lead to happiness and longevity of life (Proverbs 3:13-16). It is an important spiritual quality God wants to see in us.

Lord, we humbly pray that you will give us wisdom so that we can truly understand and experience your word and live a life knowing what is right and wrong. Give is wisdom and let us show you in all that we do as we deliver true understanding and knowledge. Fill us with your Holy Spirit and lead us today to do what is right in your sight. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder (Cross Roads) – 2 November 2017

A reminder for today
It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. (Psalm 118:8)

I find myself at a cross road today. We try to unite our people and we stand up against corruption and murder, yet it seems as if nothing happens. Now our government is trying to get into our schools and break up the governing bodies so that they can change all schools to dual medium and take over the recruitment process of teachers into our schools. This means that the person that will be my child’s teacher will most probably not be the one best qualified for the position. My question is simple? When is enough, enough? When will you realise that your methods are killing a country and destroying our economy? When will you realise that you have failed, and you are just making it worse?

My cross road is purely that I do not think I will be able to except this and let my child’s future be ruined, because of the greed of a corrupted group. We wait on the Lord for an answer, but as human as I am I am impatient, and I am concerned, because my life will probably not be affected as much as my children will be affected by this. We saw that the current education system is in shambles because of the changes that was forced on us. We see how our leaders are spending our tax money on their own needs for bigger houses and more expensive cars with extravagant holidays. Our taxes have increased ad we are paying more and more into a bottomless pit of greed and lust and hatred. We do all we can to end racism, but our government does the opposite. In fact, they blame us for their failures.

Therefore, I am seriously thinking of leaving and taking my kids somewhere else where they will have a fair chance and a better future. I am at the point where I am beginning to think our future here is dark. If they continue to kill our farmers as they are currently doing, we will have no more food grown in our country and they will import more which means everything will get more and more expensive. The average guy like me will be impacted the worst.

So, what do we do? What do we do when the challenges we face seem impossible? What do we do when we are helpless and hopeless? The Lord says that we must trust Him and not man. Man is cruel and greedy and corrupted. God is good, and He will show us the way. I do not know what the Lord has in mind for us, but I trust that He will reveal His plan soon. I trust that He will show me the path I need to take and if immigration is what He has in mind then we will leave. Only God can break the current state of things and change our situation. But one thing remains a fact, we cannot go on like this. We cannot do this on our own. We must unite, and we must trust God for the answer. We need to turn back to Him and open our hearts and minds so that we can hear His plan. We need God and we are nothing without Him.

Lord, I am at the end of my hope as I look up to you. Please come and answer our prayers and show us the way we must go. We cannot carry on like this and we cannot continue to fill a bottomless pit. Lord, hear our cries and save your people. Forgive our sins and hear our pleas as we call on your name. Break the grip of the enemy and help us. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder (Motivation Wednesday) – 1 November 2017

A reminder for today
Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. (Psalm 91:13)

It is the first of November and the year is basically at its end. The shops are setting up their Christmas decorations and people are finalizing their holiday plans. The exams are a mere week away and then it is all over. Unfortunately, we still have a massive amount to do before this month is over. My parents are in the last few days on the farm and they are moving next week. It is just all rushing by like crazy.

So, today I thought I will attempt my writing at motivating you guys into the last part of the year so that we will all unite in celebrating the birth of our Lord and saviour. So here is a few famous guys and their quotes:

“God loves each of us as if there were only one of us”- Augustine

Employ whatever God has entrusted you with, in doing good, all possible good, in every possible kind and degree…- John Wesley

“Faith does not eliminate questions. But faith knows where to take them.” ― Elisabeth Elliot

“We never grow closer to God when we just live life. It takes deliberate pursuit and attentiveness.” ― Francis Chan

“We may speak about a place where there are no tears, no death, no fear, no night; but those are just the benefits of heaven. The beauty of heaven is seeing God.” ― Max Lucado

“He said “Love…as I have loved you.” We cannot love too much.” ― Amy Carmichael

“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”   – Martin Luther King Jr.

“Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrows; it empties today of its strength.”   – Corrie Ten Boom

My dear friend, God is so impressed with you and He desires more time with you. You are stronger than you think, and you are able to do much more than you think. Do not allow the limitations the enemy wants you to see become your measure. Your strength is from God and in Him we are limitless. Do not attempt life on your own but let God guide and direct you. If He is for us, who can be against us. With Him we can face storms, walk on water and heal the sick. With Him we can move mountains and change the hardest of hearts. The enemy wants you to feel weak and insignificant, but God wants you to soar and be victorious. God wants you to be happy and to share your joy. He wants us to dance and sing and laugh and love and live. He wants you to be the amazing person that you are, because you are wonderfully created.

Lord, thank you for all that you do. We love with all our hearts and we ask that you fill us with your strength and guide us through this day. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers
