A
reminder for today
You
will be my people, and I will be your God. (Jeremiah 30:22)
This is such an awesome verse. It just says it all. God
wants us to be His people and He will be our God. He is the only God and the
only one we must worship. To be His people we must give Him all that we are and
love Him with all our hearts. Complete love also means complete commitment and
in this we must commit ourselves to God in our faith and in our trust. We must
live lives that resemble this fact. In other words we must submit to God and
follow His ways so that it will become our ways. As He is in us we must be in
Him and as we are Him we must be more like Him. We are crafted in His image,
but we must also reflect His image in our choices and in our way we live. God
teaches love in His way so we must love like He does. God teaches commitment in
His way so we should be committed in our lives. God teaches trust and understanding
so we should trust Him and understand His guidance. We must be His people and
when you are part of God’s people it should become your focus point and your
joy. It is like wearing your favourite sports team’s colours. You must wear you
faith so that it is visible to all.
Lord, let us be your people. In Jesus name.
