Today Reminder - 01 November 2013 (Day 1 - A life of Change)

A reminder for today
The king took his place of authority beside the pillar and renewed the covenant in the LORD's presence. He pledged to obey the LORD by keeping all his commands, laws, and decrees with all his heart and soul. He promised to obey all the terms of the covenant that were written in the scroll. And he required everyone in Jerusalem and the people of Benjamin to make a similar pledge. The people of Jerusalem did so, renewing their covenant with God, the God of their ancestors. (2 Chronicles 34:31-32)

It is Friday again and the weeks just seem to fly by. We are in November and in a month’s time it is December and the end of this year. It is just amazing how quickly this year is coming to an end. I am kicking of November with a new theme – “A life of change” I want to focus this month on change within us and change around us preparing us for the month ahead. Christmas time can be quite a challenging time and I would like us to celebrate this time of year for what it truly stands for. Not for the presents that an old man in sleigh brings, but for the miracle of Jesus Christ.

Josiah was eight years old when he became king and unlike his ancestors he followed the Lord and tried to get rid of all the pagan shrines and idols that his ancestors made. He found Book of the Law of the Lord that was written by Moses and when he heard what was written in it he tore his clothes in despair and wept in repentance. He pledged to keep the commands, laws and decrees with all his heart and he required everyone to do the same. So the people renewed their covenant with the Lord.

To live a life of change we must start by changing ourselves. I believe that reading and understand God’s Word is our first step towards a life of change. It is what we take in that change us and in turn what we took in will come out affecting our lives in such a way that it will affect people around us. This is my goal, I want my life to make a difference so that other will change their ways and seek the Lord and renew their covenant. I want to live a life that will glorify the Lord and show His love in all that I do.

So today I would like us to take time in prayer with the Lord and just renew our covenant with Him so that we will start our journey towards Him in the correct direction.

Lord, come and fill our hearts and our minds with your Spirit and renew us and clean us by taking away all that hinders our progress and filling it with your presence. Lord, change our hearts and strengthen us, because the enemy will surely try to break our covenant with you at every chance they get. Help us to focus our hearts and minds on you and seek you with all that we are. Lord, humble us so that there will be nothing that stands in the way of the change that we seek and that we will commit to a life of change for your glory.

My dear friend, a life of change awaits us and a journey that will rock our world when the Lord starts to move within our lives. I see a time of wonders and miracles that awaits us and relationship with the Lord that will take us to a new level leaving us breathless at His wonders, mercy and grace.

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers

Just to remind you

When I say that 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living. I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.'  When I say 'I am a Christian', I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.   When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it. When I say 'I am a Christian', I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not holier than you. I’m just a simple sinner who received God...

Today Reminder – 7 August 2014 (Day 5 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today Honour the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. (Proverbs 3:9-10) When we realise that all we are and all that we are good at is a blessing from the Lord we soon see how we can honour Him with these wonderful talents. I give all the credit to the Lord for all that I accomplish and all that I do and I am humbled by the way He continues to give me wisdom in my work. The promise here is much greater than we realise. When we honour Him with all that we produce, He will fill our barns and let our vats overflow. This to me means that the more we honour Him in what we produce (do) the more He will bless what we do up to the extend where we will see His blessings and they will leave us completely overwhelmed. In the end all that we have comes from God and He will increase what we have when we seek Him above all and live to bring glory to Him. ...

Today Reminder (Boxes) – 9 November 2017

A reminder for today   I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End [the Eternal One]. (Revelation 22:13 ) When you are reading this, I will be well on my way to my parents. Today is their moving day and we are off to help. Now, when it comes to moving I am almost an expert. We moved a few times and I can tell you it was never fun. Even still today our furniture starts to shake when a truck drives by. Now moving is all about boxes. Your stuff goes into the box and then onto the truck and finally at the new destination the stuff comes out of the box. One thing I can tell you is that with every move our stuff got lesser and lesser, because I gave some away that I thought we do not need anymore. Some would think I just made it less and easier to move. I would argue the opposite, but surely everyone is entitled to their own opinion. When we look at life it is a bit like moving. You see we experience things in life and we box it. This c...
