Today Reminder (Holidays) – 10 August 2017

A reminder for today
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. (3 John 1:2)

Yesterday was another public holiday and I must admit I actually forgot about this one. We are so busy at work that the days fly by at an incredible speed as we rush to complete this project. So, I thought I will give you a quick hallo yesterday, but here is how my day went. First, our microwave broke and in my world with seven meals a day this is a problem. So, I had to go and buy another with money we do not have. Then my wife wanted an exercise bike for home training and we got that. This took me a while to assemble, because the instructions were not that clear. Then my son’s teacher decided that they will be writing a test today so we had to summarize his work and study it. That took the rest of the day and finally when I got to my work, it was late already. So, I missed you. Sorry about that.

Holidays are important, they break our routines a little and give us more time with our loved ones. In our faith we need holidays, because we need more time with God. Sometimes we should just stop and take a moment and just be with God. He loves that, He loves these intimate moments where we just worship Him. It is also something our souls need. We need that quiet time and time to bond with our creator. We need to realize that we need Him and that we are nothing without Him. We need this time to realign our focus with His focus and to bring us closer to God. We need time to be quiet and hear His voice. We need this, because with God we can do anything. This will renew our strength and give us peace when we are in difficult times.

Come with me today as we take time to be with God and just worship Him. Let us open our hearts to His voice and His guidance. Let’s unite in prayers and bring the enemy to his knees.

Lord, we just want to be with you. Let us find more quiet moments and just spend it with you. You are our God and king and you are our all. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Just to remind you

When I say that 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living. I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.'  When I say 'I am a Christian', I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.   When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it. When I say 'I am a Christian', I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not holier than you. I’m just a simple sinner who received God...

Today Reminder – 7 August 2014 (Day 5 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today Honour the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. (Proverbs 3:9-10) When we realise that all we are and all that we are good at is a blessing from the Lord we soon see how we can honour Him with these wonderful talents. I give all the credit to the Lord for all that I accomplish and all that I do and I am humbled by the way He continues to give me wisdom in my work. The promise here is much greater than we realise. When we honour Him with all that we produce, He will fill our barns and let our vats overflow. This to me means that the more we honour Him in what we produce (do) the more He will bless what we do up to the extend where we will see His blessings and they will leave us completely overwhelmed. In the end all that we have comes from God and He will increase what we have when we seek Him above all and live to bring glory to Him. ...

Today Reminder (Boxes) – 9 November 2017

A reminder for today   I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End [the Eternal One]. (Revelation 22:13 ) When you are reading this, I will be well on my way to my parents. Today is their moving day and we are off to help. Now, when it comes to moving I am almost an expert. We moved a few times and I can tell you it was never fun. Even still today our furniture starts to shake when a truck drives by. Now moving is all about boxes. Your stuff goes into the box and then onto the truck and finally at the new destination the stuff comes out of the box. One thing I can tell you is that with every move our stuff got lesser and lesser, because I gave some away that I thought we do not need anymore. Some would think I just made it less and easier to move. I would argue the opposite, but surely everyone is entitled to their own opinion. When we look at life it is a bit like moving. You see we experience things in life and we box it. This c...
