Today Reminder (Evil) – 15 August 2017

A reminder for today
Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core. (Jude 1:11)

Cain murdered his brother, Abel, out of jealously and anger. Evil is constantly around us and we face it on a daily basis. Paul wrote in Romans 7:15 - For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. He reminds us that we are all sinners and that we do the things we hate rather than the things that does good. We are easily misled and then we fall back into our sinful nature and we continue to do the things we should not. Paul also says that it is the sin that dwells in us that causes us to fall and stumble back to our old ways. Paul then says: O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Yes, I see you are getting a little negative knowing that we allow sin to control our bodies. We let the enemy deceive us and we fall into his trap. How do we compete with a relentless enemy that prowls around like a lion ready to devour us? Here is the part that you actually know. Paul continues to write and says: There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

Jesus destroyed sin and death and that He made us free from it. We who are in Jesus are free from the chains of sin. When we accepted Jesus as our saviour we moved from a sinful person into a new and sin free person. We now have an almighty God that dwells in us and guides us. We follow His voice and He leads us away from evil and sin to the path of righteousness. Jesus is your saviour and by this He became the sin bearer that took all your transgressions and washed them away with His love and blood.

This is something the enemy can do nothing about. He can’t change the freedom and peace that we have in Jesus Christ. He cannot pull us out of the hands of our God. He cannot take away our freedom and he can never ever condemn us again. There is nothing he can do to take away what we have in Jesus. Yes, he can hurt you and let you go through tribulation and pain, but it is merely temporarily for in the end we will all be with Jesus and we will live in eternity. God is for us, what can man possible do that will change our destiny or what can the enemy conjure up that will take away the promise we have in Jesus? There is nothing anyone can do to us. The time of the Lord is coming and when He returns evil will be no more.

Lord, we thank you for the wonder of what you did on that cross. We give you our hearts and minds and we love you with all we are. Thank you that we will be with you in the new heaven and earth for eternity. We look forward to the time that we will be with you. Let your will be done and let your kingdom come. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers
