We spoke about this yesterday and I think the Holy Spirit just wishes to emphasise this statement and remind us that narrow is the gate and difficult is the path that leads to heaven. It is imperative that we strive to live a righteous life and do what is right in God’s sight. It is not easy because with every day we face new challenges and it can be easy to slip back into our old nature. I love this verse in the amplified Bible.
It states the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. After stating that you should give instruction (guidance, truth) to a wise man (who fears God) and they will benefit and grow from it. A worldly person will be offended and angry. The last part is quite important. Wisdom multiplies and increases.
This is really important because by wisdom (Godly fear) we will be prosperous in our days and our lives will be increased. My dear friend, by living a righteous life and doing what God says in His Word and battling on the difficult path, your life will be blessed. Do not fear man, but fear God. If God is for you, who can be against you.
