Today Reminder – 10 January 2017

A reminder for today
Make it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we instructed you before. Then people who are not Christians will respect the way you live, and you will not need to depend on others. (1 Thessalonians 4:11-12)

Good day, my friend. How are you? I do hope you are well and that the Lord our God is your focus and that you have all you need in His name. Today is my eldest son’s first day of school in 2017 as he moves up in they grade where the change class and write exams. It is a challenging year that awaits him and us, but I have faith in him and I know the Lord is by his side all the way. Life is funny nowadays and with Facebook and all the social media out there we are almost in each others back yard. So many can live a quiet live, but they follow everyone’s moves on the internet. To live a quiet live, minding your own business and focusing on your work has become somewhat of difficult thing. Yet I think that it is the best way to live. I always say that Facebook stole the privilege we have in physical contact. We would rather like something on Facebook than to go and congratulate someone for something they have done or to say happy birthday. To be honest I prefer if you call me and say happy birthday than to post it online, but I guess it remains a personal preference.

So today my challenge is that you give a little of yourself by rather telling someone than to put it online. To mind you own business and to focus on your work. To have a job is a massive gift and a blessing and I can't say this more, we should always work with gratitude doing our best in such a way that our managers will be proud and that we will feel good of what we have done. Then you will be respected and trusted and you will give glory to God, because you display love and contempt. I know it is hard when your job is terrible, but you never know how God will touch the hearts of those bad people when you bring Him with you in all that you do.

We are looking at prayer this month and we know that prayer is powerful. So if you have this weapon that can change people, please use it, because God will bring about change when you pray with a faithful heart.

Lord, I bring us all to you in my prayer and I thank you for the jobs we have. I pray that you will bring about change where we face difficult work situations and if we need to change jobs that you will guide us and help us to find the right one. Help us to live quiet lives and as we put on your Armour today, I pray that you will help us fight the enemy and defeat him as he tries to destroy us. Fill our hearts with you and fill us with your Spirit so that we will remain focused on you. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Just to remind you

When I say that 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living. I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.'  When I say 'I am a Christian', I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.   When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it. When I say 'I am a Christian', I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not holier than you. I’m just a simple sinner who received God...

Today Reminder – 7 August 2014 (Day 5 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today Honour the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. (Proverbs 3:9-10) When we realise that all we are and all that we are good at is a blessing from the Lord we soon see how we can honour Him with these wonderful talents. I give all the credit to the Lord for all that I accomplish and all that I do and I am humbled by the way He continues to give me wisdom in my work. The promise here is much greater than we realise. When we honour Him with all that we produce, He will fill our barns and let our vats overflow. This to me means that the more we honour Him in what we produce (do) the more He will bless what we do up to the extend where we will see His blessings and they will leave us completely overwhelmed. In the end all that we have comes from God and He will increase what we have when we seek Him above all and live to bring glory to Him. ...

Today Reminder (Boxes) – 9 November 2017

A reminder for today   I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End [the Eternal One]. (Revelation 22:13 ) When you are reading this, I will be well on my way to my parents. Today is their moving day and we are off to help. Now, when it comes to moving I am almost an expert. We moved a few times and I can tell you it was never fun. Even still today our furniture starts to shake when a truck drives by. Now moving is all about boxes. Your stuff goes into the box and then onto the truck and finally at the new destination the stuff comes out of the box. One thing I can tell you is that with every move our stuff got lesser and lesser, because I gave some away that I thought we do not need anymore. Some would think I just made it less and easier to move. I would argue the opposite, but surely everyone is entitled to their own opinion. When we look at life it is a bit like moving. You see we experience things in life and we box it. This c...
