Today Reminder – 30 January 2017

A reminder for today
This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it: "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners"—and I am the worst of them all. (1 Timothy 1:15)

Oh my it is Monday and it started not so good. Impatience is one of the worst characteristics we can display and in most cases we end up hurting only ourselves. Traffic as usual was at its best this morning and watched how a lady impatiently just drove out of her turn right in front me as I drove into a turn. And yes I was upset just to think later that maybe she was waiting for a turn for a long time and no one thought of giving her one. So yes, the Holy Spirit worked with me giving me a better perspective. So my impatience and her impatience robbed me of a blessing. So much for shining the light and changing the world.

Have you ever felt the same way Paul describes himself. He says Jesus came to save the sinners and he was the worst of them all. Paul humbles himself and here and shows God’s grace in his humility. I have felt like that many times. I felt that compared to other sinners I am the worst of them all. But in fact God’s grace is so great and His forgiveness so powerful that we have no past to look back to nor do we have faults and mistakes that we need to remember and feel bad about. The enemy however loves to remind us of our faults in his attempts to change our humility into self pride and self pity.

Luckily God when God cleans up your life the is no past to remember nor do we need to feel guilty for it anymore. Our lives change from past dwellers to future movers. We become optimistic followers of God and eternity lovers for we will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

So today I challenge you to break the past and see the future.

Lord, help us to understand your grace and know that the old self is no more and a new self exists in my place that lives by grace and flourishes by you love. Help us to wear your Armour and face our battles today. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Just to remind you

When I say that 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living. I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.'  When I say 'I am a Christian', I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.   When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it. When I say 'I am a Christian', I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not holier than you. I’m just a simple sinner who received God...

Today Reminder – 7 August 2014 (Day 5 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today Honour the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. (Proverbs 3:9-10) When we realise that all we are and all that we are good at is a blessing from the Lord we soon see how we can honour Him with these wonderful talents. I give all the credit to the Lord for all that I accomplish and all that I do and I am humbled by the way He continues to give me wisdom in my work. The promise here is much greater than we realise. When we honour Him with all that we produce, He will fill our barns and let our vats overflow. This to me means that the more we honour Him in what we produce (do) the more He will bless what we do up to the extend where we will see His blessings and they will leave us completely overwhelmed. In the end all that we have comes from God and He will increase what we have when we seek Him above all and live to bring glory to Him. ...

Today Reminder (Boxes) – 9 November 2017

A reminder for today   I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End [the Eternal One]. (Revelation 22:13 ) When you are reading this, I will be well on my way to my parents. Today is their moving day and we are off to help. Now, when it comes to moving I am almost an expert. We moved a few times and I can tell you it was never fun. Even still today our furniture starts to shake when a truck drives by. Now moving is all about boxes. Your stuff goes into the box and then onto the truck and finally at the new destination the stuff comes out of the box. One thing I can tell you is that with every move our stuff got lesser and lesser, because I gave some away that I thought we do not need anymore. Some would think I just made it less and easier to move. I would argue the opposite, but surely everyone is entitled to their own opinion. When we look at life it is a bit like moving. You see we experience things in life and we box it. This c...
