Reflections of faith (Right size) – 6 March 2019

Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. (Genesis 2:24)

When I spoke to my Pastor about my divorce and the events that lead to it and how forgiveness was just not on the table, he said that my situation is not unique, and it is basically one out of every two marriages that ends up in the same way and very few ever get restored. This morning a friend of mine reminded me of one of the most important things I have ever wrote. The problem with broken marriages and the unforgiveness that we see today is that it has become to easy to get divorced. God hates divorce (if I can put it that way), because He knows what it does to the children and what happens in the spiritual world. She also said that people do not have God in their homes anymore and that we have lost the fear of God. Wow, when I heard this it hit me like a hot plate. Man (and woman) has gotten so arrogant and moved away from God in selfishness and pride and became their own gods. We would rather hurt and not forgive than to consider who God is and what He can do to us. We need to right size God and we need to return to His word and read it daily in our homes and to our children. We need to forget about our self and start to think of the consequences of our decisions. When Moses wanted to see God, God said to him that he must turn his back to God, because God’s majesty will kill him when he sees God. God then moved passed him so that he could see Him from behind. God spoke and the universe was formed. God has the final judgement and eternity is apparently not a big threat. We need to return to God and His word, and we need to change our ways and align us with God and His word, because then we will understand that when a man leaves his father and mother to cleave (to melt into/to cut into) his wife to be one flesh, he will never consider anything else. You will find all your answers in God’s Word, but we do not want to look, because we will not like the answer. Make the right choice, do not wait like me until it is to late.

Have an awesome day.

I love you, my friend in Jesus.

Cheers
