reminder for today
But
Jonah got up and went in the opposite direction to get away from the Lord. He
went down to the port of Joppa, where he found a ship leaving for Tarshish. He
bought a ticket and went on board, hoping to escape from the Lord by sailing to
Tarshish. (Jonah 1:3)
Have you ever been invited to a place that you do not want
to go to? It happens so often in our lives when we are invited to a party, and on
the day we don’t want to go. We would think of a thousand other places we would
rather be, than going to this party. Once you are there you would find that you are actually enjoying it, and coming was not such a bad thing after all.
In life we are often placed in situations we do not want
to be in or we wish we were never there. I think almost every day we would find
ourselves in an uncomfortable place or about to do something we are not
comfortable with. God places us strategically in certain places every day, and
each time you have the opportunity to show His light and be His ambassador. Do you
take the responsibility serious or do you just wait for the time to pass?
Sending Jonah to Nineveh saved the lives of many people
and also taught Jonah a great lesson. Sending you into that boardroom or giving
you that call or going to that party or wherever and whatever the situation is –
you can save a life.
