A
reminder for today
"You
won't die!" the serpent replied to the woman. "God knows that
your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God,
knowing both good and evil." The woman was convinced. She saw that the
tree was beautiful and its fruit looked delicious, and she wanted the wisdom it
would give her. (Genesis 3:4-6)
Deception – Knowing it is wrong but yet you are still
convinced it is fine to carry on. It is funny actually how people seek money
and power. Man wants to be like God. He wants to be powerful and rich and
everyone must be in awe of his prominence. It is a terrible flaw and one the
enemy loves to use in its deception. You see it started with Adam and Eve, but
never stopped there. The enemy still today deceives people by making them think
they can have God’s wisdom and power.
But deception surely does not stop there. The enemy has
found so many ways in deceiving us today in making us think it is the right
thing to do, when it is actually wrong. How easy it has become to manipulate us
in today’s world with all the media and television and terrible examples that
we have in our celebrities and leaders.
Here is one or two as food for thought:
"You must not have any other god but me.” – Yet we
allow money and possessions to take God’s place in our lives.
"You must not misuse the name of the LORD your God.”
– In today’s society it has become part of the way people talk and obviously we
see it on TV.
"Honour your father and mother. “ – Do we?
And how many “Little white lies” do we tell?
My dear friend, satan will continue to deceive us and
convince us it fine unless you measure it against the Word of God. Don’t just
accept his lies but let God guide you by His word so that you can distinguish between
right and wrong and between lies and truth.
My prayer for you is that God will grant you the wisdom to
see past the enemy’s lies and that you will allow God to show you the truth and
the right way, in Jesus name.
