Today Reminder - 12 February 2013 (Pitfalls)

A reminder for today
"Never forget what the Amalekites did to you as you came from Egypt. They attacked you when you were exhausted and weary, and they struck down those who were straggling behind. They had no fear of God.” (Deuteronomy 25:17-18)

Pitfalls and potholes:

I can’t help but to think of the long and strenuous journey the Israelite people had when they travelled from Egypt to the Promised Land. Even now before they enter the Promised Land, Moses is giving them a massive list of regulations and commands that they must follow and adhere to.

This made me think of the journey that we travel on each day. Our life is a journey and the Promised Land is heaven that awaits us. Our journey will take us through many difficult places and every time we reach a new pitfall or find ourselves on a road filled with potholes, we will have to stand strong and trust God to make it through.

I have so often found myself on the top of the hill only to come down into a valley filled with new challenges. Sometimes these challenges can really burden us with negative thoughts, and in these times the enemy will launch more and more attacks on our vulnerability to bring us down. You see once we give up, the fight is over. It is as long as we stand up in the midst of the storm that the enemy will continue their attacks and try to take our focus away from God.

What to do, what to do? Are you there? Are the waves of this life crashing down on you? Does it feel that all your attempts have been in vain? Do you feel unworthy?

My dear and wonderful friend, God gave us the answer and I love His words that the psalmist wrote in psalm 121. Do remember that you are not the only one that travels through tough times. We all do and we all need God more and more every time. Come with me and let’s look up to the mountains today.

I look up to the mountains— does my help come from there? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth! He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber. Indeed, He who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps. The LORD himself watches over you! The LORD stands beside you as your protective shade. The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon at night. The LORD keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. The LORD keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.(Psalm 121)

I pray that you will feel God’s protective shade over your life today and that you will be strengthened to continue the fight and to never give up, in Jesus name.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers
