Today Reminder - 08 April 2013 (Mara)

A reminder for today
I went away full, but the LORD has brought me home empty. Why call me Naomi when the LORD has caused me to suffer and the Almighty has sent such tragedy upon me?" (Ruth 1:21)

Where do you find yourself today on your journey? How are you, my dear friend? Do you feel that life as dealt you a poor hand and that things are not as you expected them to be?

We can so easily be influenced by circumstances and we can so easily feel bitter, because life is not what we want it to be or expected it to be. We see here in the life of Naomi that life for her is not so great. She started off well but lost both her husband and her two sons. Her bitterness drove her to change her name from Naomi (pleasant) to Mara (bitter).

Are you turning into Mara?

My dear friend, not all storms are easy to survive through. In some we escape loss and in other we have to deal with disaster. But most important is our attitude towards God and God’s place in our own pain. Do we reject God for the result of pain, or do we accept it and openly welcome His peace and love in leading us safely away from hurt to His path of hope and purpose. Do you look for someone of something to blame or do we stand up out of the mud and reach out for His hand and continue to walk. Sometimes pain sticks and hinders our walk, but God will show you His plan and help you to heal and put you back on your journey. Finally God will bring you to a place where you will soar once more as you are released from pain to place where you will shine for His glory and truly show His greatness in victory and in defeat. My dear friend, we are not made to fall and stay down, we are made to fall, learn, grow, stand up, continue, live, overcome and fly on wings of eagles high above the reach of the enemy and finally away from pain to an eternity of peace, love and happiness. Do join me today as we lay our burdens in the hands of our Lord and saviour and stand up once more to face a new day no matter how difficult and no matter how hard. Put a smile on your face, Jesus in your heart and listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit and let us fly high above the world in the hands of our Lord.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Just to remind you

When I say that 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living. I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.'  When I say 'I am a Christian', I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.   When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it. When I say 'I am a Christian', I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not holier than you. I’m just a simple sinner who received God...

Today Reminder – 7 August 2014 (Day 5 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today Honour the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. (Proverbs 3:9-10) When we realise that all we are and all that we are good at is a blessing from the Lord we soon see how we can honour Him with these wonderful talents. I give all the credit to the Lord for all that I accomplish and all that I do and I am humbled by the way He continues to give me wisdom in my work. The promise here is much greater than we realise. When we honour Him with all that we produce, He will fill our barns and let our vats overflow. This to me means that the more we honour Him in what we produce (do) the more He will bless what we do up to the extend where we will see His blessings and they will leave us completely overwhelmed. In the end all that we have comes from God and He will increase what we have when we seek Him above all and live to bring glory to Him. ...

Today Reminder (Boxes) – 9 November 2017

A reminder for today   I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End [the Eternal One]. (Revelation 22:13 ) When you are reading this, I will be well on my way to my parents. Today is their moving day and we are off to help. Now, when it comes to moving I am almost an expert. We moved a few times and I can tell you it was never fun. Even still today our furniture starts to shake when a truck drives by. Now moving is all about boxes. Your stuff goes into the box and then onto the truck and finally at the new destination the stuff comes out of the box. One thing I can tell you is that with every move our stuff got lesser and lesser, because I gave some away that I thought we do not need anymore. Some would think I just made it less and easier to move. I would argue the opposite, but surely everyone is entitled to their own opinion. When we look at life it is a bit like moving. You see we experience things in life and we box it. This c...
