Today Reminder – 09 June 2014 (Day 06 – Stand up)

A reminder for today
Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy. They weep as they go to plant their seed, but they sing as they return with the harvest. (Psalm 126:5-6)

The last few days brought really cold weather as a cold front moved in over South Africa. The days were really chilly and staying indoors seemed as the best option. The cold moves in but leaves eventually. It seems terrible at first but it is also needed. What bothered me are all those people living on the streets and I prayed that they would find warm shelter and I wondered if there is more we could do. When you are not the one out there on the street, you will surely not understand. Just as the cold sweeps in as the weather changes, life changes too.

Life brings cold fronts into our lives leaving us with tears as we watch the destruction that is left behind. The Lord tells us today that when we plant our seed with tears we will harvest with joy. This means that when you stand up today and do the things that are hard and difficult and those things that you do not want to do, you will harvest huge blessings. Here are a few examples of those things that could change your life: When we give to the needy when it is hard we will show our own faith and change a heart, when we are angry and we forgive, when we are wrong and we change, when we do great things not for our own glory, when we give another chance, when we stand up, when we do our work, when we play with our children, when we spend time talking and not watching television, when we read instead of sleeping, when we worship alone, when we pray when we are tired, when we run when it is cold, when we accept help, when give help, when we understand, when we go to church, when we listen, when we talk, when we share, when we trust, when we love unconditionally and when we accept Jesus and follow His ways.

When you stand up today, be prepared to return with a harvest.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers

Just to remind you

When I say that 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living. I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.'  When I say 'I am a Christian', I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.   When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it. When I say 'I am a Christian', I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not holier than you. I’m just a simple sinner who received God...

Today Reminder – 7 August 2014 (Day 5 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today Honour the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. (Proverbs 3:9-10) When we realise that all we are and all that we are good at is a blessing from the Lord we soon see how we can honour Him with these wonderful talents. I give all the credit to the Lord for all that I accomplish and all that I do and I am humbled by the way He continues to give me wisdom in my work. The promise here is much greater than we realise. When we honour Him with all that we produce, He will fill our barns and let our vats overflow. This to me means that the more we honour Him in what we produce (do) the more He will bless what we do up to the extend where we will see His blessings and they will leave us completely overwhelmed. In the end all that we have comes from God and He will increase what we have when we seek Him above all and live to bring glory to Him. ...

Today Reminder (Boxes) – 9 November 2017

A reminder for today   I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End [the Eternal One]. (Revelation 22:13 ) When you are reading this, I will be well on my way to my parents. Today is their moving day and we are off to help. Now, when it comes to moving I am almost an expert. We moved a few times and I can tell you it was never fun. Even still today our furniture starts to shake when a truck drives by. Now moving is all about boxes. Your stuff goes into the box and then onto the truck and finally at the new destination the stuff comes out of the box. One thing I can tell you is that with every move our stuff got lesser and lesser, because I gave some away that I thought we do not need anymore. Some would think I just made it less and easier to move. I would argue the opposite, but surely everyone is entitled to their own opinion. When we look at life it is a bit like moving. You see we experience things in life and we box it. This c...
