Today Reminder – 10 June 2014 (Day 07 – Stand up)

A reminder for today
Unless the LORD builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted. Unless the LORD protects a city, guarding it with sentries will do no good. (Psalm 127:1)

As the week kicks off with a bang and I realise how much work we have I just knew that this is a week where we will have to stand up and face the winters of life. Too add on to all of this the flu virus seems to have made himself quite nicely at home. When I read these verses today I thought about my body and how it is struggling to defeat the flu virus. I know why, it is because I just refuse to take a break and rest for a moment.

I am thinking of how we lose our battles because we forget that prayer should be our first option before we go out and battle our challenges. If we do not go before God with all our problems and seek His guidance and direction, we might as well accept defeat. If God is not first in every choice we make why do we go to Him when we have failed? It is like doing something stupid and then seeking advice on how to do it right.

When we stand up after we have failed and we did not seek God then we will fail again. If God does not build the house, you are wasting your time with it. If it is not God’s plan and His will you might as well stop trying. This is probably the biggest mistake we all do. Instead of asking God for guidance and advice we tend to tell God what He must do so that we will have our way. It is not about you or me, it is all about God and therefore I put Him first in all I do and in all I am. I will praise His name when I am victorious, and when I fall, because He is first. It is not about me, it is all about Him and with Him I am victorious even in defeat.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers

Just to remind you

When I say that 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living. I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.'  When I say 'I am a Christian', I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.   When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it. When I say 'I am a Christian', I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not holier than you. I’m just a simple sinner who received God...

Today Reminder – 7 August 2014 (Day 5 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today Honour the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. (Proverbs 3:9-10) When we realise that all we are and all that we are good at is a blessing from the Lord we soon see how we can honour Him with these wonderful talents. I give all the credit to the Lord for all that I accomplish and all that I do and I am humbled by the way He continues to give me wisdom in my work. The promise here is much greater than we realise. When we honour Him with all that we produce, He will fill our barns and let our vats overflow. This to me means that the more we honour Him in what we produce (do) the more He will bless what we do up to the extend where we will see His blessings and they will leave us completely overwhelmed. In the end all that we have comes from God and He will increase what we have when we seek Him above all and live to bring glory to Him. ...

Today Reminder (Boxes) – 9 November 2017

A reminder for today   I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End [the Eternal One]. (Revelation 22:13 ) When you are reading this, I will be well on my way to my parents. Today is their moving day and we are off to help. Now, when it comes to moving I am almost an expert. We moved a few times and I can tell you it was never fun. Even still today our furniture starts to shake when a truck drives by. Now moving is all about boxes. Your stuff goes into the box and then onto the truck and finally at the new destination the stuff comes out of the box. One thing I can tell you is that with every move our stuff got lesser and lesser, because I gave some away that I thought we do not need anymore. Some would think I just made it less and easier to move. I would argue the opposite, but surely everyone is entitled to their own opinion. When we look at life it is a bit like moving. You see we experience things in life and we box it. This c...
