Today Reminder - 03 May 2013 (Foolish)

A reminder for today
"How foolish!" Samuel exclaimed. "You have not kept the command the LORD your God gave you. Had you kept it, the LORD would have established your kingdom over Israel forever. But now your kingdom must end, for the LORD has sought out a man after his own heart. The LORD has already appointed him to be the leader of his people, because you have not kept the LORD's command." (1 Samuel 13:13-14)

"How foolish!" I wonder how many times I have said those words to myself. We can sometimes do such stupid things and at the moment it seemed fine, but when we reflect back we realise what a terrible thing it was to do or say. Saul made a huge mistake in not keeping God’s command and that cost him his kingdom. This marked the end of his reign and the start of a new king. When Samuel talks about this new king, he says that God has sought out a man after His own heart.

My dear friend, this is such an important phrase. To be a man or woman after God’s own heart is something that we all can be. It is the way we follow the Lord and obey His commands (His voice and guidance). I believe that this is something that we should strive for every day. We should start each day with new determination to follow God and His Word in everything that we do so that we can be seen as someone after God’s own heart. It is in this that we truly display God’s presence in our own lives thus making it more attractive to those around us. This is the starting point in building a solid relationship with God so that you will become unbreakable in a world where the enemy wants to destroy you at every possible moment. Seeking to be a man/woman after God’s own heart will end the foolishness and bring out the amazing person that you really are.

Come let us spread the aroma of God’s love in living a life that is after God’s own heart.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers
