reminder for today
But
the LORD said to Samuel, "Don't judge by his appearance or height, for I
have rejected him. The LORD doesn't see things the way you see them. People
judge by outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart." (1 Samuel
16:7)
Wow! That is just an awesome verse. How many times do we
fail at appearance? Gosh! We are so quick to judge someone looking at what is
visible when we completely miss what is important. God says here to Samuel that
He does not see things the way we see it. I think in that first sentence we
have already missed the important part. God is God and it is impossible for us
to see what He sees, but we can always ask God to show us what He sees. God
goes further and says that He looks at the heart.
My dear friend, when God looks at your heart today, what
will He see? Come and let is ask God to change our hearts so that we can be the
person He sees us to be. Let the Holy Spirit inhabit your heart so that nothing
can enter that is wrong. Let us ask God to open our eyes when we look at other
so that we look past the outward appearance and see them for who they truly
are.
With your heart that belongs to Jesus and your faith that
is on this solid rock you are bound for victories in all aspects of life. With a
heart that is full of Jesus your appearance will also be affected. A friend
once told me that beauty comes from inside. Let your heart be your reflection
that the world sees today, and smile, because you are beautiful.
