Today Reminder - 14 May 2013 (Armour)

A reminder for today
David put it on, strapped the sword over it, and took a step or two to see what it was like, for he had never worn such things before. "I can't go in these," he protested to Saul. "I'm not used to them." So David took them off again. (1 Samuel 17:39)

Do you sometimes wear too much armour, or find yourself in a position that you are not used to? I guess it is that uncomfortable feeling that you are wearing something wrong or you are now in the wrong crowd. From time to time we end up in places in our lives where we are uncomfortable and it is at these specific times we feel that we kind off stand out amongst the rest. You know, like that sore thumb story.

When David dressed in Saul’s armour he knew immediately that he is out of his comfort zone and that he does not need all that metal for God is his armour. My dear and wonderful friends, when you find yourself in a place where you are uncomfortable, get out of there. Follow God’s voice and let Him lead you away from things that will burden you in your journey towards Him. David knew that he could barely walk in that armour and the same in life we will know that whatever it is that we are busy with, will hinder our walk with God.

Come and let us steer away from all things and people that will break our stride towards our God and keep us away from being who we are supposed to be in Jesus Christ, and if you are in the business of wearing too much armour out fear of getting hurt, take it off. You can never be vulnerable with Jesus in your heart. With your eyes focussed on Him and your heart filled with faith you can overcome anything.

My dear friend, you do not need to be someone you are not. Be yourself in Jesus Christ, for He made you and He knows who you are.

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers
