Today Reminder - 22 July 2013 (Be more)

A reminder for today
One day the widow of a member of the group of prophets came to Elisha and cried out, "My husband who served you is dead, and you know how he feared the LORD. But now a creditor has come, threatening to take my two sons as slaves." "What can I do to help you?" Elisha asked. "Tell me, what do you have in the house?"
"Nothing at all, except a flask of olive oil," she replied. (2 Kings 4:1-2)

When was the last time you helped someone in need? This widow came to Elisha seeking his help after her husband died. They had a large debt and no way to repay it. Elisha helped this widow with a miracle that made her olive oil flask almost bottomless. She had to borrow all the empty jars she could find and each one she filled with the olive oil that was in her flask.

Soon every container was full to the brim! "Bring me another jar," she said to one of her sons. "There aren't any more!" he told her. And then the olive oil stopped flowing. When she told the man of God what had happened, he said to her, "Now sell the olive oil and pay your debts, and you and your sons can live on what is left over."

My dear friend, there are so many scriptures confirming God’s promise that He will take care of us and that He only wants to see us prosper. This miracle once again just confirms God’s loving passion for each of us and how His glory is displayed in our weaknesses. I asked you “when was the last time you helped someone” and I realise that our world has become a cold place where people do not help each other so often anymore. We would rather look the other way or make an excuse to help someone in need. The heart of God is displayed in love, because He loves us so much, why can we not share that love and show it to those around us? What stops you from showing His love in giving a helping hand?

Come with me today as we open our hearts and listen to the Holy Spirit as we seek to help people around us. Be the jar that fills all the other jars around you with the love of Jesus Christ. Don’t look for miracles, but be the miracle.

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers
