A
reminder for today
But I
trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me. I
will sing to the LORD because he is good to me. (Psalm 13:5-6)
As we took our son to school yesterday to start his year
in grade 1, I realised again that every beginning has an end and every end has
a beginning. Just as a new horizon start and end we are faced with things every
day that starts and ends. Some of them have a longer period than other but they
all end and a new one starts. We can’t always choose what we start and end, but
we can always choose how we start and end.
Every time we start and end a new horizon in our lives we
can trust in God’s unfailing love for He is the one that rescues us and He is
the one that is good to us in these cycles that we go through in our lives. Not
every beginning and end will be a joyful one. Some will be fun and other will
hurt, in some we will gain and in other we will lose, in some we will stand and
in other we could fall, in some we will recover and in other we will have pain.
Most important is that we need to remember that as our
lives have many of these cycles that awaits us, we are still living only one
cycle that inevitably will have an end.
The Lord makes it quite clear in revelation 22:13 – “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning
and the End."
He is the beginning and the end and He should be the
beginning and end of every day and every new horizon that awaits you.
