Today Reminder (Sin) – 16 Augustus 2018

A reminder for today
For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. (Romans 7:14-15)

What would this world be like without sin? Have you ever given this idea a moment of thought? Currently the world is doing everything in its power to justify sin and to make morality look uncool. We see this in the media and in the majority rule all over the world. TV makes desire, lust, greed, stealing, murder and in general sin look cool. Robin Hood steals from the rich to give to the poor. James Bond has a license to kill and to sleep with every woman he meets. The name of our Lord is abused and misused and everywhere TV shows seem to focus more on sin than on the moral correct thing to do.

So, instead of accepting Jesus man decided to make sin acceptable. Well, we know that the beginning of sin was man who was misled by satan in thinking that he could be like God. This misconception is still around when we look at evolutionists who is doing all they can to get God out of the picture and put themselves in the God’s place. Scientists are cloning animals making them the self-proclaimed creator. People are going as far as changing the bible to suit today’s world. Then there is the desire for wealth and power that has destroyed many innocent lives. Just look at South Africa and how lust, jealousy and desire has destroyed our country and many lives.

God gave is ten simple rules. Let’s recap them for a moment:

And God spake all these words, saying, I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. Thou shalt not kill. Thou shalt not commit adultery. Thou shalt not steal. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

Jesus came and summarised them for us by simply saying: Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Come with me today as we destroy sin by doing just that. Love and show love as Jesus did.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers
