Today Reminder - 01 August 2013 (You)

A reminder for today
Joash was seven years old when he became king. (2 Kings 11:21)

Wow, at the age a seven this little boy became a king. We live in a time where there is so much pressure on children and they are burdened with huge amounts of homework from school, plus they have their normal sport activities. So in a child’s day they have a huge amount to do and often are very tired. I have seen my son on numerous accounts fall asleep on the couch in front of the television. When I read this verse, I thought it is quite a large responsibility on such tiny shoulders. This little boy was hidden away so that he was not killed and later crowned as king.

My dear friend, two things are on my mind today. One is to remind you that your life has a purpose and God has already set things in motion so that you can reach that purpose. From the day you were born your life has already been planned and put into place by God and He needs you to live your life for Him so that you can become the person that God needs you to be. This requires obedience and patience and time and you will have to commit to that. Secondly I want to focus your eyes on differences. Each king that we read about in the second book of kings had specific differences and this made each one of them unique. God has made us each unique in our own way with gifts and talents that makes us who we are. From a long line of people your DNA structure has been added together to from the person who you are and this uniqueness is what makes you so important in the kingdom of God. God did not make robots, He made people with their own abilities and talents and each one of us should respect the differences in each other, because what makes you unique is something I do not have. And God needs you to be that person. Live your life for Jesus and become the unique person that you are designed to be and live my dear friend, live each moment and let us not lose a single opportunity to be Jesus people.

"I knew you before I formed you in your mother's womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations." (Jeremiah 1:5)

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers

Just to remind you

When I say that 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living. I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.'  When I say 'I am a Christian', I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.   When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it. When I say 'I am a Christian', I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not holier than you. I’m just a simple sinner who received God...

Today Reminder – 7 August 2014 (Day 5 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today Honour the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. (Proverbs 3:9-10) When we realise that all we are and all that we are good at is a blessing from the Lord we soon see how we can honour Him with these wonderful talents. I give all the credit to the Lord for all that I accomplish and all that I do and I am humbled by the way He continues to give me wisdom in my work. The promise here is much greater than we realise. When we honour Him with all that we produce, He will fill our barns and let our vats overflow. This to me means that the more we honour Him in what we produce (do) the more He will bless what we do up to the extend where we will see His blessings and they will leave us completely overwhelmed. In the end all that we have comes from God and He will increase what we have when we seek Him above all and live to bring glory to Him. ...

Today Reminder (Boxes) – 9 November 2017

A reminder for today   I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End [the Eternal One]. (Revelation 22:13 ) When you are reading this, I will be well on my way to my parents. Today is their moving day and we are off to help. Now, when it comes to moving I am almost an expert. We moved a few times and I can tell you it was never fun. Even still today our furniture starts to shake when a truck drives by. Now moving is all about boxes. Your stuff goes into the box and then onto the truck and finally at the new destination the stuff comes out of the box. One thing I can tell you is that with every move our stuff got lesser and lesser, because I gave some away that I thought we do not need anymore. Some would think I just made it less and easier to move. I would argue the opposite, but surely everyone is entitled to their own opinion. When we look at life it is a bit like moving. You see we experience things in life and we box it. This c...
