Today Reminder - 07 August 2013 (The voices in my head)

A reminder for today
Ahaz was twenty years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem sixteen years. He did not do what was pleasing in the sight of the LORD his God, as his ancestor David had done. (2 Kings 16:2)

Why do we fall? Why is it so difficult just to do everything right in the eyes of the Lord? I believe it is the voice we choose to listen to. You see I think that there is basically three voices that we should expect to hear and firstly it is the voice of God then there is the devil trying to deceive us and finally there is our own thoughts that also dwell in our heads. Now this could cause confusion, and our responses in life is influenced by the voice we choose to listen to.

We need to be careful not to miss God’s voice in all the confusion and listen to the wrong advice. I believe that God’s direction will be clear in the sense that we can so easily compare what He says to what is in His Word. “After he has gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them, and they follow him because they know his voice. They won't follow a stranger; they will run from him because they don't know his voice." (John 10:4-5) I think spending more time in God’s Word and in prayer will make it easier to hear His voice, because it will become a familiar voice.

My dear friend, we fall so that we can stand up again. God speaks deep within my spirit, and the devil speaks to my soul or mind. God alone, resides, takes residence within our spirit. Satan and God cannot both occupy our spirit at one time. The Word of God also helps us to judge between the soul and the spirit. For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desire. (Hebrews 4:12)

Come with me today and let us ask God to open our hearts so that we can hear His voice clearly and follow His advice. Let us find God’s inner peace and ask Him to place a guard in front of our mouths so that we will think and listen before we speak or react. I pray that your day will be filled with peace and understanding as you open your mind and soul to God’s voice. I pray that with each day we get closer to God and that His voice will become a familiar voice that we will hear more frequently and that we will never be deceived by the voice of the enemy or our own thoughts and desires.

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers
