A
reminder for today
Don't
worry about the wicked or envy those who do wrong. For like grass, they soon
fade away. Like spring flowers, they soon wither. (Psalm 37:1-2)
It is funny how we can so easily be influenced by
society. We look at people and what they do and we start to envy them. Does
that happen to you? Do you look at other and think “Wow, why can’t I look like
that?” or “Why don’t I also just skip work?” or “Nobody will know, anyway they
do it!”
I have written to you before that the enemy is not
interested in those on the wrong path. He wants to trick us and make us fall.
So he will do anything to make his ways look appealing and unfortunately he
will use anything. One thing he has perfected is the media. Television can make
the wrong path look so good and right and confuse so many.
The worst is when you and I that are trying our best to
do the right thing have to stand and watch when the wicked gets away with so
many wrongs. It can upset me at times and really make me negative.
Here it is clear in Psalm 37 that we should not worry
about them and envy them, for they will soon fade away. Our time is short and
to spend it being upset or envious on the wrong crowd is a waste. Take that
energy and put it into your time with the Lord. Let Him change your negative thoughts into life
giving positive thoughts and remember that in the end they will fade and you
will remain, because in Jesus you are eternal.
