A
reminder for today
Oh,
the joys of those who are kind to the poor! The LORD rescues them when they are
in trouble. The LORD protects them and keeps them alive. He gives them prosperity
in the land and rescues them from their enemies. The LORD nurses them when
they are sick and restores them to health. (Psalm 41:1-3)
I must admit that this is something I struggle with. Here
in our country we have a lot of poor people and thanks to the ruling party that
poverty seems to grow every day. It feels form time to time as if you don’t
have enough to give and you just want to shout out “Not another one”. Then you
get those that give too and it looks as if they expected you to give more. This
all makes up the struggle in my mind and I guess it makes you negative about
giving.
My dear friend, how can we receive when we do not give? I
think it comes down to trust and faith. We do not trust God nor do we have
faith in His Word. Just listen to the words in Psalm 41.
Oh,
the joys of those who are kind to the poor – There is joy in
giving. Joy, because you are changing another person’s circumstances and joy
for you will receive more than what you give.
The
LORD rescues them when they are in trouble. The LORD protects them and keeps
them alive – Wow, what a promise. When you give the Lord will help
you when you are in trouble and protect you.
He
gives them prosperity in the land and rescues them from their enemies – By giving
you will be prosperous and I have heard so many business people confirming
this. When they give their businesses just prospers. You will too!
The
LORD nurses them when they are sick and restores them to health – The
Lord will keep you healthy and heal you when you are sick. This is so awesome!
Not only will you have joy, receive more than you give and be prosperous, you
will also be healed and protected.
