Today Reminder – 19 March 2014 (Day 12 – My Strength)

A reminder for today
Do not abandon me, O LORD. Do not stand at a distance, my God. Come quickly to help me, O Lord my saviour. (Psalm 38:21-22)

Yesterday I wrote to you about burdens that we carry with us that create distance between ourselves and God. Today I want to ask you if you feel abandoned and if you feel that the Lord is standing at a distance. Does your current situation cause you to think that the Lord has abandoned you and that He is distant?

I guess there comes a time when we all feel that lonely feeling. That lost and abandoned feeling where we struggle with our current problems and they just don’t seem to go away. We stare at these huge issues and we have no idea how we will ever get past them. It can be a relationship problem or maybe financial problems. Maybe it is work related? Maybe you are in a new job with very high expectations or maybe your current position where you work is causing those sleepless nights?

Sometimes it seems as if we keep asking for help and it seems as if we are just losing the fight more and more. We are tired of trying and it feels as if it will never change.

Can you imagine Jesus praying before His arrest and crucifixion, the emotions and stress that He must have felt in His human form? I can just imagine…

My dear friend, He knows exactly how you feel and He knows that now more than ever you need Him. So He is not at a distance and to look for Him in the distance is wrong, because He is right there next to you holding you up so that you can stand and get past this section in your journey. Hold on, because the next part is where you must actually be. He will not let you face your problems alone and He is already working on your release, do not lose your faith and trust in Him. The enemy knows your struggles just as well as you do and they will now more than ever try and break you.

You will find Him on your knees and He will free you. Greater things are yet to come.

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers
