A reminder for
today
And at the seventh time the servant said, “A cloud as
small as a man’s hand is coming up from the sea.” And Elijah said, “Go up, say
to Ahab, ‘Prepare your chariot and
go down, so that the rain shower does not stop you.’”. (1 Kings 18:44)
It stared to rain yesterday here in Pretoria and it seems it
might still rain for the rest of the week. It is an awesome blessing and we are
so grateful for the Lord as it just rains. Today we unite as a nation to pray for
rain in our cape province. They are in the midst of a massive drought and it is
getting worse. I believe we should not just ask the Lord for rain but also for
the hearts of people. We should pray that people turn from their wicked ways
and return to the Lord. God looks at the heart of man and He sees their real
intent. When people turn back God will heal.
Rain is such an important thing, because water makes up a
great part of our bodies. When you exercise a lot like we do, you realise the importance
of water very quickly. The body needs water and food. But we also need the Lord
to reign in our lives. The reign of our Lord is more important in our daily
lives than water. We can survive for while without water, but we will not make
it through a single day without the Lord. This is what our friends the atheists
do not understand and at times it baffles me. Even as they turn away from God,
God still loves them, and God is still close even when they deny Him at every
chance they get.
When you look at my verse you will see I took the part where
Elijah prayed, and the Lord send rain. It started with a small cloud, but soon
it rained a lot. This is a very significant moment, because the people saw the
real God when Elijah proved that baal was false god and the people should
return to the Lord. The result was instant healing and lots of rain. Therefore,
I say that our people should turn away from their false gods and turn back to
the Lord. Then we will see rain like never before. The Lord will let it rain as
He reigns in every heart.
Come with me today as we pray for the hearts of people and
their journey back to the Lord. Let us ask the Lord for rain as we call Him to
reign again, like He did in the past.
Lord, we bring our world to you and we pray for the hearts
and lives of all people as we ask that they will see the error of their ways and
turn back to you. Send our country rain and forgive us for we are broken and
lost. In Jesus name.
