Today Reminder (The Journey) – 9 May 2018

A reminder for today
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. (Acts 1:8)

It was a beautiful crisp and clear winter morning. The alarm went off, but a swift slap brought it abruptly to silence. It was quiet in the room. Nothing but the calm continuous breathing of a man. From a distance he seems so relaxed but, in his mind, a million thoughts are running like wild horses away from a fire. It has been a terrible week, well basically it has been a terrible month. He walked into the office on the third ready to seal a mayor deal with a huge new client when he was called to the top floor.

The management team seemed grim and cold as he entered. Their reasons were ridiculous and their accusations a complete lie. He was set up and framed by the very people he called friend. John was the only Christian in a company driven by greed and desire. Every one of those people behind that desk earns millions and a lot of that is because John makes the right choices. For the past few months many of his colleagues were shocked to hear that John accepted Jesus Christ as his saviour.

Many of them laughed and said he should tell them when he dumped this new girl friend that confused him with this Jesus nonsense. But to their shock John became a more adamant believer and his relationship with Jesus got stronger and to add to their irritation John started to do a lot better in his work. In fact, he outperformed all his colleagues.

His dismissal did come as a shock. John was a good employee and he loved his work, but their ignorance was just too much. He left the office with soft voices talking behind him as he walked out. What now?

The last two weeks were horrible. John just bought this house and all their weddings plans were made plus he had to pay a deposit. With no income and huge amount of debt John faced bankruptcy. He was afraid, and he felt lost and abandoned by very God who gave His life for him and blessed him so much in his work. Doubt started to enter, and fear was having a ball.

The phone rang. It was Lizzy. Her voice so beautiful and clear and her words so hard and correct. “John, I know you are afraid and I know you feel that there is no way out of this, but I had a dream last night of our wedding and how beautiful it will be. I know that Jesus will not let the enemy defeat you. So, stand up and get up out of this place of darkness. Jesus is already working on your future. You will see.”

He put down the phone and her words kept on drumming through his head. He was awake now but still sitting. Confused, but he started to feel better when the phone rang again. “Good morning Mr Harper, I am phoning from a company called Global Sales, we are the largest supplier of telecom solutions in the world and we would like to make you an offer as our sales director….”

John was shaking. Their sales director died a month ago, but he was in the John’s church. They met before and he was always asking about John’s job. He made the recommendation on his death bed that they appoint John in his place.

He jumped out of bed and into his shower. God made the impossible possible. Again.

The two angels that was sitting across from his bed smiled at one another as they continued to guard John from the enemy angels sitting outside to afraid to even come close.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Just to remind you

When I say that 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living. I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.'  When I say 'I am a Christian', I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.   When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it. When I say 'I am a Christian', I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not holier than you. I’m just a simple sinner who received God...

Today Reminder – 7 August 2014 (Day 5 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today Honour the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. (Proverbs 3:9-10) When we realise that all we are and all that we are good at is a blessing from the Lord we soon see how we can honour Him with these wonderful talents. I give all the credit to the Lord for all that I accomplish and all that I do and I am humbled by the way He continues to give me wisdom in my work. The promise here is much greater than we realise. When we honour Him with all that we produce, He will fill our barns and let our vats overflow. This to me means that the more we honour Him in what we produce (do) the more He will bless what we do up to the extend where we will see His blessings and they will leave us completely overwhelmed. In the end all that we have comes from God and He will increase what we have when we seek Him above all and live to bring glory to Him. ...

Today Reminder (Boxes) – 9 November 2017

A reminder for today   I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End [the Eternal One]. (Revelation 22:13 ) When you are reading this, I will be well on my way to my parents. Today is their moving day and we are off to help. Now, when it comes to moving I am almost an expert. We moved a few times and I can tell you it was never fun. Even still today our furniture starts to shake when a truck drives by. Now moving is all about boxes. Your stuff goes into the box and then onto the truck and finally at the new destination the stuff comes out of the box. One thing I can tell you is that with every move our stuff got lesser and lesser, because I gave some away that I thought we do not need anymore. Some would think I just made it less and easier to move. I would argue the opposite, but surely everyone is entitled to their own opinion. When we look at life it is a bit like moving. You see we experience things in life and we box it. This c...
