A reminder for
today
Lo, children are an heritage of the
LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. (Psalm 127:3)
This morning I read an interesting post from Ken Ham. Here
is an extract: Archaeologists in Peru have uncovered what they believe
to be “compelling scientific evidence for the largest single mass child
sacrifice event known in world history.” The remains of over 140 children, aged
5–14, were found buried with over 200 baby llamas in Huanchaquito-Las
Llamas. The researchers believe these children and llamas were sacrificed
500 years ago to “fend off the repeated disruptions wrought by El Niño.”
Evidence indicates they had their hearts taken out!
I agree with him that I was a little shocked about this and
immediately my thoughts were who could do such a terrible thing. People reading
this story are understandably horrified—who would allow a priest to gruesomely
kill children? And what kind of people group would kill over 140 children
at one time? This is evil and appalling. But it’s no different from
what happens every day in nations all around the world.
These children were sacrificed—murdered—to appease the gods
these people worshipped. Children today are being slaughtered by
abortionists to appease a different god—the god of self. Abortion is
the murder of an unborn child. There’s no difference between killing a
five-year-old to appease a false god and killing an unborn child for the sake
of convenience. The result is the same—an adult murder a child for selfish
reasons. Yes, abortion is child sacrifice to the god of self!
This heinous archaeological find isn’t the greatest mass
sacrifice in history. The one billion children murdered
by abortion in the last 100 years around the world is the largest child
sacrifice.
This certainly makes you think. I have written about life
and abortion before and I must remind you of one of my favourite verses. Before
I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the
womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations (Jeremiah
1:5).
God made it abundantly clear that you are life at conception.
Abortion is killing, and we are so easily influenced by the world and what people
would say and think that we do not think. It boils down to trust and trusting God.
I have seen so many examples where people united to help a young mother raise
her child. Family and friends and strangers combined. If we trust God He will
give us a way. I have seen it in my life and I have told you about it in many occasions.
No matter the circumstances, a child should not carry the blame for someone else’s
sins. I know this can be a hot topic when we look at all the scenario’s but
what I do know and what I believe with all my heart is that God will always
bring good out of bad in the end. So, what the enemy intends for bad, God can
surely turn around.
Lord, I pray for all those people facing these terrible
choices that you will touch their hearts and show them another way. In Jesus
name.
