Today Reminder – 01 July 2014 (Day 01 – War)

A reminder for today
O Sovereign LORD, the strong one who rescued me, you protected me on the day of battle. (Psalm 140:7)

Captain’s log – Day 1

The battle rages on as I stand in a distance. My ship overlooks the core of the battle where our fighters are overwhelmed by a very well prepared enemy. I feel fear and concern taking the place of previous guts and glory battle preparations. Why did we come here? Why did I think we can take on an enemy that has withstood so many other enemies before us? They come from a long line of warriors and their blood thirsty commander is the worst of all enemies anyone can take on. I must have been out of my mind to take on this assignment. For our future they said. For the survival or our people they said. We must defeat this enemy on their own ground before they enter our galaxy.

As I watch my men being pushed back time and time again I feel frozen to the very floor of my ship and a numb feeling of lost has taken the place of a proud and decorated soldier. I have no idea how we will survive today….

Our theme this month is “war” for we are at war each day. We are constantly attacked by the enemy with a soul purpose to destroy us. How is your war my friend? How are you coping with the attacks launched on you every day?

Jesus wants you to know that He is the one that rescued you and He is the one that is protecting you in your battles. All that He asks of you today is that you remember this and know it with a faithful heart.

Trust in me, Jesus says.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers

Just to remind you

When I say that 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living. I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.'  When I say 'I am a Christian', I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.   When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it. When I say 'I am a Christian', I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not holier than you. I’m just a simple sinner who received God...

Today Reminder – 7 August 2014 (Day 5 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today Honour the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. (Proverbs 3:9-10) When we realise that all we are and all that we are good at is a blessing from the Lord we soon see how we can honour Him with these wonderful talents. I give all the credit to the Lord for all that I accomplish and all that I do and I am humbled by the way He continues to give me wisdom in my work. The promise here is much greater than we realise. When we honour Him with all that we produce, He will fill our barns and let our vats overflow. This to me means that the more we honour Him in what we produce (do) the more He will bless what we do up to the extend where we will see His blessings and they will leave us completely overwhelmed. In the end all that we have comes from God and He will increase what we have when we seek Him above all and live to bring glory to Him. ...

Today Reminder (Boxes) – 9 November 2017

A reminder for today   I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End [the Eternal One]. (Revelation 22:13 ) When you are reading this, I will be well on my way to my parents. Today is their moving day and we are off to help. Now, when it comes to moving I am almost an expert. We moved a few times and I can tell you it was never fun. Even still today our furniture starts to shake when a truck drives by. Now moving is all about boxes. Your stuff goes into the box and then onto the truck and finally at the new destination the stuff comes out of the box. One thing I can tell you is that with every move our stuff got lesser and lesser, because I gave some away that I thought we do not need anymore. Some would think I just made it less and easier to move. I would argue the opposite, but surely everyone is entitled to their own opinion. When we look at life it is a bit like moving. You see we experience things in life and we box it. This c...
