A reminder for
today
Hold firmly to the
word of life; then, on the day of Christ's return, I will be proud that I did
not run the race in vain and that my work was not useless. (Philippians 2:16)
You will not believe me when I tell you how it rains here in
South Africa. It is just unbelievable. The roads are flooded as tons of water
rushes down it. There are constant storm warnings and the news papers even give
advice on what to do when you are faced with a flood on the road. It is just
amazing! If you ever wondered if there is a God, you surely must have
confirmation now. We prayed for rain and we asked God to end the drought and He
answers in abundance. So what is left for us to do. Well give thanks is first on
my list and secondly I would say turn to God and worship Him like we are taught
in the Bible. Turn away from all that is wrong and turn to God with thankful
hearts and joyful spirits. Turn to the only living God and to Jesus Christ His
only Son who gave His life so that we can have life.
Though he was God, he
did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he
gave up his divine privileges; he took
the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared
in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal's
death on a cross. Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and
gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee
should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue
confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
So today I want you to remember that God is going to bless
us in the same way as He blesses the earth with rain. So expect floods.
Lord, we are so grateful for the rain you send and the rain
you are going to send. We praise you name and give glory to you. Take our
hearts as we turn back to you and live a life as you want us to live. We thank
you for the blessings that you are bringing into our lives and the many you are
still to give. Let your name be lifted on high. In Jesus name.
