Today Reminder – 10 March 2017

A reminder for today
Jesus responded, "Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!" Then he got up and rebuked the wind and waves, and suddenly there was a great calm. The disciples were amazed. "Who is this man?" they asked. "Even the winds and waves obey him. (Matthew 8:26-27)

I love these verses. I am looking through the window and it is a windy and cold day outside. My kids are sick, but so are almost everyone. My son and I were talking about Jesus yesterday and how He calmed the storm. I am looking at the wind outside and I am thinking what was it like on that boat that day. Jesus was asleep while this storm was raging on. Now can you imagine the disciples? They must have been out of their minds, because they are scared that the boat is going to sink and Jesus is sleeping. What were they thinking? So they woke Him filled with fear and I guess they were thinking is better to be awake when you sink. Jesus looked at them as they were shivering and scared and He was angry. Now imagine this, you woke Jesus because you are pretty sure from all your experience as a fisherman that today is your last and then Jesus is angry at you. Jesus shouted and said they have little faith, got up and rebuked the wind and waves and poof the storm was gone. Now put yourself in that boat. I wish I could see their faces. I image that for months after that they were still unsure what just happened.

I am thinking here we are in the midst of our own little storms in life, and we are at a point that we know we are going down and then Jesus just calms the storm. Our faith is so small. Jesus said if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you would be able to move a mountain. Now please google mustard seed and see for yourself, what the criteria is for moving a mountain. It is time that we turn away from our worldly fears and start to live with Godly faith.

I want to see you move mountains, so come and let us put on our big boy shoes and start having faith. Let us stop living with worldly fears and let us embrace what Jesus said we could do. If He beliefs in you, why can you not believe in you.

Lord, I pray that we will all be filled with a renewed burst of faith and that we will let go of our worldly self and embrace our new self in you. Let is wear your armour and let us defeat the enemy. Let your will be done and let your kingdom come. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Just to remind you

When I say that 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living. I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.'  When I say 'I am a Christian', I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.   When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it. When I say 'I am a Christian', I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not holier than you. I’m just a simple sinner who received God...

Today Reminder – 7 August 2014 (Day 5 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today Honour the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. (Proverbs 3:9-10) When we realise that all we are and all that we are good at is a blessing from the Lord we soon see how we can honour Him with these wonderful talents. I give all the credit to the Lord for all that I accomplish and all that I do and I am humbled by the way He continues to give me wisdom in my work. The promise here is much greater than we realise. When we honour Him with all that we produce, He will fill our barns and let our vats overflow. This to me means that the more we honour Him in what we produce (do) the more He will bless what we do up to the extend where we will see His blessings and they will leave us completely overwhelmed. In the end all that we have comes from God and He will increase what we have when we seek Him above all and live to bring glory to Him. ...

Today Reminder (Boxes) – 9 November 2017

A reminder for today   I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End [the Eternal One]. (Revelation 22:13 ) When you are reading this, I will be well on my way to my parents. Today is their moving day and we are off to help. Now, when it comes to moving I am almost an expert. We moved a few times and I can tell you it was never fun. Even still today our furniture starts to shake when a truck drives by. Now moving is all about boxes. Your stuff goes into the box and then onto the truck and finally at the new destination the stuff comes out of the box. One thing I can tell you is that with every move our stuff got lesser and lesser, because I gave some away that I thought we do not need anymore. Some would think I just made it less and easier to move. I would argue the opposite, but surely everyone is entitled to their own opinion. When we look at life it is a bit like moving. You see we experience things in life and we box it. This c...
